We woke up before 6am on Saturday morning to start early with our scheduled activities. Had a quick breakfast then prepared our stuff for caving and island hopping. Everyone’s excited ’cause this is the awaited day to experience the adventures in the island.
On our first day in the island, the group decided to visit the light house or the parola of Gigantes while waiting for our dinner and to kill time. Most of us thought that it would be a simple pictorial with the light house, however, it was even more surprising. When our guide told us to climb up already, we were so fascinated especially me because this would be my first time. Excited for its view, we immediately take every step of the stairs up to the top of the light house.
Islas de Gigantes or Gigantes Island is part of Carles, Iloilo. Little has known about its existence and still remains off the beaten path. The island consists of beautiful scenery with white sand beaches where you can go beach bumming. It is also known as the ‘scallops capital of the Philippines‘ and it taught me that scallops are not deadly when eaten since its my first time to eat scallops here. lol lol lol I’ve been dying to go to this island since last year and good thing I’ve met people who wanted to do the same thing. Recently, Opon in Lapu-Lapu City officially opened the first and only skate park in the Philippines that has been financed by the local government. *cheers to that!* This post might be new to you since I’m more into blogging travel destinations. But who doesn’t want to brag about this? A skate park with a small skate bowl in Lapu-Lapu! Plus music fest and skate competitions on that day. Anyone would brag about that one-of-a-kind event. Panglao is an island in Bohol that can easily be seen from Tagbilaran City. It is home to fine white sand beaches and is often compared to Boracay Island. It’s also well known for its excellent diving and snorkeling spots.
I’m back again! This is my second time doing the Countryside Tour. I was supposed to go to Ilocandia, but had to move it to another month. I went on the countryside tour on my second day in Bohol because it needed an early start and finish before lunchtime. It was my first visit since the strong earthquake hit the island last October, so I wanted to see how Bohol looks now.
What month is it?!!! It’s TEAM BUILDING TIME!!!! And this time, it will be in Oslob. insert party emoji here Everyone’s excited for the team building since it will be the perfect opportunity to relax and take a break from all the stress at work. On top of that, we’ll be visiting lots of tourist spots in Oslob! This is not my first time in Oslob, as I’ve already visited its most famous tourist spots: whale shark watching in Tan-awan and Tumalog Falls last summer. This time, however, the team won’t be going whale shark watching, as it’s quite expensive and our budget is tight. So, how did it go?
After the Apo Island trip, we went straight to Harold’s Mansion to pick up our things and then headed to Valencia to visit the Forest Camp. It is a mountain resort with natural pools and a waterfall, making it perfect for picnics, especially for families and groups of friends. Forest Camp in Valencia is just a 30-40 minute ride from Dumaguete City. If you want to stay here for a night then they also have family cottages. As what I’ve heard, Forest Camp doesn’t allow alcoholic drinks inside the premises.
Want to know what it feels like to swim with sea turtles? Apo Island is the perfect place to experience it. This volcanic island covers 12 hectares and is located at the southeastern tip of Negros Oriental. It is famous for having one of the best marine sanctuaries in the world, attracting both local and international diving enthusiasts. Keep in mind, electricity is available for only three hours a day, and there’s no Wi-Fi except at one hotel. On our second day in Negros Oriental, we visited Apo Island early in the morning. We left Harold’s Mansion at 5:30 a.m. to have a quick breakfast at McDonald’s before heading to the Ceres terminal for the municipality of Zamboanguita.
My family has always been to Dumaguete City as a stopover to and from Cebu or Dapitan City. We’ve also strolled around the city and visited some well-known spots before. However, I was feeling impulsive and wanted to visit Negros Oriental once again with my mom and little sister. So off we went, not only to visit Dumaguete City, but also to explore other spots in the area.
