This is my first time traveling alone internationally and crossing the border is somewhat new to me. Reading blogs for reference, I only found few information about border crossing from Siem Reap to Bangkok. Usually, they cross from Bangkok to Siem Reap and it’s a little bit nerve wrecking when you can’t find info.
It’s been a while since I had a DIY trip and this time, I’m going international for the first time in my life and I’m going to Cambodia and Thailand.
One of the reason I visited Siem Reap is because of their Angkor Temples. These ruins are the most famous archaeological sites in Cambodia that reminds Khmer’s historical events. The main highlight is the Angkor Wat which is the capital of the city of temples in early 12th century — built for the Hindu god Vishnu. But what happened to this city that made it as one of the iconic and largest religious monument of the world? What ruined it? . .
Siem Reap which means the ‘defeat of Siam’ is the gateway to Angkor. It was once the capital of Cambodia but was changed to Phnom Pehn. Aside from Angkor Temples, the city has improved from once a quiet city to one of the most visited spot by tourist around the world. .
