Who doesn’t love to see cherry blossoms in real life – especially in full bloom? So here we are, planning for another Japan Trip and excited to see the beauty of Sakura flowers. We saw cherry blossoms in Nara during our winter trip before, but it was just a small tree. Seeing one for the first time already made us so happy, so imagine how amazing it would be to see them during peak season.

This is our third time in Osaka and wanted to explore more beyond the city’s busy streets. If you’re looking for a unique place to visit in Osaka, Katsuo-ji Temple should be on your list. Also known as the Temple of Victory, this place is famous for its thousands of little red Daruma dolls scattered around the temple grounds. These dolls symbolise luck, perseverance, and achieving your goals.

Miyajima is one of those places in Japan that deserves more than just a quick stop. Famous for its iconic floating torii gate, this little island in Hiroshima is where you’ll find beautiful sea views, peaceful shrines, and deer casually wandering around like they own the place. We took our time exploring the island, tried some local food, and enjoy the slower pace away from the busy city. I’d say, Miyajima is a lovely addition to your Japan itinerary.

Yanagawa is sometimes called the “Venice of Kyushu” due to its kilometers-long network of canals. Just an hour and a half away from Hakata City, you can reach this off-the-beaten-path destination and enjoy a river cruise – a perfect for a day trip in Fukuoka. If you are just like us who prefers less-traveled destination then it’s time to add this to your bucket list.

As fans of less touristy destinations, we have found this hidden gem in the north west of Fukuoka prefecture. A coastal city that is best known for it’s mountains, beaches, cute cafes and two rocks connected by a sacred rope and white torii gate. It was quite difficult to research the city, so it was a bit of a struggle for us to navigate the place. Since it is less exposed to tourists, the locals are not very comfortable speaking English.
