DIY Davao-Bislig-Hinatuan-Tandag-Lanuza-Surigao City

So many asked us, ‘Why go to Davao if you’re going to Enchanted River? You can go to Butuan’ and blah blah blah’. I have my own reasons and one of those is to experience how safe Davao City is. Although, I didn’t stay that long in Davao thanks to the delayed flight of Cebu Pacific, I was able to experience how safe the place and how responsible Davaoeños are. It was a long trip from Davao to Surigao City and this post will give you an idea how to travel in a DIY Davao-Bislig-Hinatuan-Tandag-Lanuza-Surigao City route.

Left my heart in Lanuza, Surigao del Sur

When you think of surfing in the Philippines, you will immediately remember Siargao Island as the surfing capital. Once you hear Surigao, the island comes in your mind straightaway. But let’s forget about it and let’s explore another surfing spot in Surigao, which is located in Sur or in the southern part of Surigao province. [Note: This will be a long post and more on mushy storytelling. lol] I got addicted to surfing although I’m not even good with it. Days are better if you are on a surf trip as they say. It’s not all about getting a good picture for you to brag on social medias like Facebook and Instagram. But it’s the feeling of satisfaction when you

Team Building in Camotes

Stressed from work and want a short break to relax and unwind? There’s an island just two hours away from mainland Cebu. It’s another gem Cebu can be proud of and comparable to Bantayan Island and Malapascua Island. Summer has officially started, and we, as a team, were looking for a nice place to hold our team-building activity when we decided on Camotes Island. It was a great idea since I hadn’t been there yet. Yep, you read that right, I’ve never been to this place. And please don’t ask me why, because I don’t know either.

DIY Baler Trip

As a birthday gift to myself, I decided to go to Baler this time and yay I’m so excited. Bought a plane ticket 3 weeks before the trip, did some research on what to do there aside from surfing, filed a VL then boom! Let the DIY Baler trip begin! So where is this Baler by the way? When my co-workers asked me where I’m heading next and answered them Baler, they’ll ask me again ‘Where is that?’. C’mon guys? Haven’t you even heard about the movie ‘Baler’? Or stumbled upon the province while skimming on the map of the Philippines? lol. But just kidding and please don’t hate me for that 🙁 So where is it exactly anyway?

Surfing the waves of Baler

I’ve tried surfing many times now at different surfing spots — Siargao and La Union. But it doesn’t mean that we are really good at it. We still get wiped out — even pros do. Excitement is all over us and I just wanted to surf immediately. Why? Because this time, I’m surfing the waves of Baler. When I checked out Sabang Beach, it has a grey-ish or black-ish sand compared to Siargao, which is rocky while La Union has a white sand. There were many people surfing already while others are just beach bumming. The best part of it? There were really huge waves which I haven’t seen in Siargao yet.

Dicasalarin Cove of Baler

I’ve read a lot of blogs praising this place and even suggested to go there despite the 300 pesos entrance per person. Indeed, it is expensive but most of them said that it is worth it. That’s the reason it’s on my checklist. Dicasalarin Cove of Baler is privately owned by the Anggaras. It is 20-30 minutes away from Baler and entrance fee is 100 pesos if you stay in Costa Pacifica or 300 pesos if you are not.

Diguisit Falls and Rock Formation

On my first day, I went to the Diguisit Falls and Rock Formation and it was really ossuuuuum! I’m into rock formations and waterfalls because we don’t have that at home. lol. It was just the first day but I was already in-love with Baler’s beauty. There are so many things to see and so many spots to take photos.

Ditumabo Falls in Baler

I’ve read a lot of stories on some blogs that the trek to the falls is very challenging but when I was there, it was a so-so. Since I’m used to trekking in most of my trips, it was a no-sweat trek. hahaha! Ditumabo Falls in Baler came from the phrase ‘dito tumago’ because this is an old hideout for NPAs, as what our guide told us. But last 2010, it was approved that the name will be changed into Mother Falls.

Last weekend, Go San Fernando together with Driftwood Local Ent. (DWLE) held the 1st Full Moon Hammock Summit at Mt. Bandilaan, San Fernando. Everyone’s excited to explore the unspoiled natural wonder of this municipality in Cebu and to meet new friends and share the experience with other participants. But before I share our experiences during the event, let’s talk about San Fernando. It is located in the Southern part of Cebu in between Naga and Carcar. Hidden Paradise and Singli Mountain Resort can be found here and they’re best known as team building destinations. But, do you know that there are hidden waterfalls in the heart of the mountains of San Fernando? Did you also know that you can surf

Cangcalanog Falls of Alegria Cebu

I’ve been searching for some new waterfalls to explore on the web when I accidentally found this unspoiled falls somewhere in South of Cebu. In awe, I’ve invited my friends to check the place last month. Unfortunately, there was a strong typhoon that hits Philippines then we had to cancel it. But then there’s always this feeling of urge to visit the place so I decided to go. Cangcalanog Falls of Alegria Cebu is just 3 hours away from the city. A perfect place to unwind and relax with your friends, family or with yourself (forever alone).
