Palawan: City Tour

I decided to have a City Tour on the 3rd and last day in Puerto Princesa, Palawan since this can be done half day. In their city tour, you would be able to see a lot of attractions in the city that includes the following:

  • Crocodile Farm
  • Mitra’s Ranch
  • Baker’s Hill
  • Binuatan Weaving Creation
  • Immaculate Conception Cathedral
  • Plaza Cuartel
  • Baywalk and Souvenir Shop

Usually, for travel agencies, they offer a package for 600 pesos per person, inclusive of an air-conditioned van for the tour and entrance fees. Doesn’t that sound good and hassle-free? Sitting in a comfortable, air-conditioned van while waiting to arrive at your destinations is truly satisfying as a tourist.

But did you know that you can also have a city tour by trike or tricycle? For only 600 pesos for the trike, you can enjoy the same tour as the 600-peso per person air-conditioned van.

A package tour, which costs 600 pesos per person, is ideal for big groups of tourists since it is more accommodating compared to a trike, right? I ended up choosing the trike tour since there were only two of us and we wanted to have more control over the destinations.

Compared to a package tour, where you don’t have a choice but to follow the tour guide’s instructions and itinerary, the trike tour allows more flexibility. You can skip destinations you’re not interested in and request to go somewhere else instead. So, before everything gets spoiled, let’s start our tour.

1. Mitra’s Ranch

My guide for the day, Kuya Roel, started our tour at Mitra’s Ranch. This is the ranch of the late Senator Ramon Mitra, who passed away years ago.

There is no entrance fee unless you go inside the owner’s house, where you will need to pay 10 pesos each. There are also plenty of activities here, such as horseback riding, trampoline, and ziplining but we didn’t try any of them. lol

2. Baker’s Hill (one of my favorite)

It’s actually a simple bakery that offers good taste of their bread and pastries.

But why did I mentioned that it’s one of our favorites? Hahaha! Click here if why.

3. Crocodile Farm

This tour made me very excited since it is more on crocs (not the footwear). Seeing huge reptiles up close is just like meeting Godzilla in personal. *ngyuuuungyuuuurrrr*

Fact: Im a big fan of Godzilla

4. Binuatan Weaving Creation

Here you can try to weave on your own by the help of their instructions. It’s really fascinating since it is like a sewing machine ‘the old fashioned way‘.

We should have gone to a museum but unfortunately, time is running out and we really need to go to airport to catch our flight. Anyhow, we still did enjoy the half day city tour in Puerto Princesa. So once again, if you need a trike for the city tour, don’t be hesitant to ask.
