Fastest Zipline and Ugong Rock Caving in Palawan

Yep, you read that right. The fastest zip line in the Philippines is in Brgy. Tagabinet, Palawan. In just 23–24 seconds, **snap** you’re done. But before you can try the fastest zip line, you need to go through their cave first.

Ugong Rock Mountain is a side trip from the Underground River Tour in Sabang, which means it’s optional. Although it was already part of my plans because I wanted to experience a bit of adrenaline, I had no idea that Ugong Rock Mountain features one of the fastest ziplines in the Philippines.

This adventure is not included in the Underground River tour, so please note that it comes with a separate fee which is why I mentioned that it’s optional.

The local government, the Department of Tourism, and ABS-CBN are supporting this project because it greatly benefits the residents of this barangay. It also serves as a source of livelihood for them aside from farming.

There’s no need to worry, as the local farmers manage the adventure activities well and take proper precautions.

For 250 pesos per person, you can go caving and climb the rocks to reach the summit. The photos below show the entrance.

Then there’s a little tunnel to pass through….

It’s not really that hard compared to Danao, Bohol’s cave, where you actually have to crawl, swim, and climb. Here, it’s mostly just walking—pure walking. The caving part only takes about 15–20 minutes, depending on how fast your group walks and takes photos. Haha.

Anyway, once you pass through the small tunnel, you’ll trek through an open part of the mountain to reach the other side of the cave (sounds confusing, I know).

They also made the adventure easier by adding some steep staircases. It would have been more fun if they had added ropes instead, but anyway, it’s for safety.

Moving forward, starting from this point, you will begin climbing the rocks and staircases to reach the summit.

But wait, there’s MORE! To fully reach the summit, you’ll need to climb a 12-foot vertical rock with the help of a rope and a harness. Don’t worry, it’s safe. There are also many staff members who will assist you as you climb.

As easy as 1, 2, 3… lol.

Once you reach the top, you will need to climb up some moreeeeeeeeeee rocks!

Until you will reach the summit! Hoooraaay!

Once you reach the summit, you have 2 options — to rappel down or by a faster way — zipline. Since this is what I have been waiting for, to try the fastest zipline in Philippines, then off we go. But before doing it, you have another 2 options (AGAIN!). To zipline in sitting position or with a superman position.

  • sitting position – 250 pesos
  • superman position – 350 pesos

Fact: My first zipline was in Danao, Bohol.

so happy, eh?

For just about 23 seconds, we reached the end of the zipline—now that’s really fast! I was even shaking when the staff first let go of me. It really feels like you’re falling from a cliff. This (photo below) is how it looks from above.

sitting position is for noob JOKE

So, if you notice, the cables are positioned at a slant, making you slide down really fast! And wow—look at that view!

It was both a satisfying and not-so-satisfying feeling. You know that moment when you’re so satisfied that you want to try it again, but you can’t because there are other tourists waiting for you in the van? HAHAHA!

Anyway, this is how our Ugong Rock Adventure ends. Let’s take a quick look at some of our team during the spelunking.
