Iwahig Firefly Watching in Palawan

I’ve read a lot of great reviews about this, saying it’s a must-try, so I added it to my list for Puerto Princesa. I originally wanted to do a DIY tour, but unfortunately, everyone kept advising me to go for the package tour instead since it includes everything. And when I say everything, I mean house and lot, furniture, and a kabuhayan showcase. No, just kidding.

I randomly scored a package tour for just ₱1000 per person — yes, really. It already included van transfers, boat rides, a buffet dinner, and basically every transfer you could think of. Not bad at all. The catch? You’ll be grouped with other tourists, so expect a bit of a “joiner tour” setup. We all met up at the Baywalk before heading out.

This boat will then take you to a bigger boat on the other side of the island for your buffet dinner.

And I’m here! So ready to eat! hahaha!

By the way, your buffet dinner will be on a boat in the middle of the water. It’s not scary, though, because the water is calm since it’s in a cove.

The tour is more ‘desirable’ if there would be no moon because fireflies is more visible. However, in our case, it was effin’ SUPER MOON! lol

After dinner, we will be transferred to another boat again which will be use for the 20-30 minutes firefly watching and NO FLASH btw. Fireflies hate flash. haha!

If I’ll rate it from 1-10, I’ll give it like 4 overall.

  1. Great post. You write with humor very well. I love it. As for those pesky fireflies…I’ve been on one of those tours in Thailand. I saw a few — which was cool because I’d never seen one before — but I don’t think I’d do it again. But the food looks pretty masarap!
