Dapitan City’s Dakak Park and Beach Resort

DCIM100GOPRO

My parents are from Dipolog City, and we’ve been to Dapitan many times since we were kids. Dapitan City is also known as the place where Jose Rizal was exiled. Aside from that, it’s famous for Dakak and Gloria’s Fantasyland. My mom once said that before Dakak became popular as “Dakak Resort,” part of it was owned by their family. However, they didn’t know how to manage a resort, and maybe because of the cost, they decided to sell it to Mr. Jalosjos instead.

Moving forward, my family planned a getaway since Papa was coming home, and wants to treat us to an “out-of-town adventure.” And guess who arranged it? ***drumroll*** Yep,it was me. Supposedly, we were planning to go to Bohol because we really missed it there despite what happened before. But since Papa wanted to meet his long-lost half-brother, we decided to go to Dakak instead.

Photos below are from our arrival:

Below is our room, which is good for four people.

Our room was a nipa-style room, and it felt a little scary and gloomy compared to my Papa and sister’s room, which was much brighter and more modern. The CR (comfort room) was even scarier lol.

We then went strolling, looking for something to eat. The resort was quite big, with restaurants (Italian and Filipino), a disco bar, an aqua sports center, a zipline, and of course, pools. My aunt from Dipolog once said that Dakak is more beautiful than Plantation Bay, and I was like, “Really?” and got excited. But eventually, when we were there, I could say that the place is pretty, but not as pretty as Plantation Bay (proud to be Cebuana lol). Anyway, no harm done; I’m cool with that. Everyone has their own opinion. Tsheee.

After dinner, we took some photos and then went to bed to rest a little since I hadn’t slept yet. Imagine, coming straight from my 8 PM–5 AM shift, then going home to prepare for the airport. Jeez.

Then at 8 PM, we went to Gloria’s Fantasyland, about 15–20 minutes away, where there are all kinds of rides. The package we availed at Dakak included free tickets to Fantasyland. Even though I’m not really into rides because I’m scared of them, I had no choice but to go or I would have spoiled the whole plan. Hahaha!

It was so much fun, and it was my first time riding a roller effin’ coaster! Not only do they have the rides, but they also have a horror house and an entertainment show, which ended with a superb fireworks display. We left almost at midnight and were dead tired by the time we got back to the resort.

More photos coming the next day.
