Updated: Canyoning in Alegria to Badian, Cebu

Rest in peace Mr. Aldrin Carba Described as one of the best “canyoneering guides” and a pioneer in the field, Mr. Carba, also known as “Ya Man,” was found dead after a 29-hour search and rescue. He went missing following a jump during a canyoning activity on July 26. This post is a tribute to him. Although I never met him personally, I had the opportunity to speak with his mother while staying at their home during our canyoning trip. Ka-tingo Falls in Catmon, Cebu

I’ve wanted to visit the spectacular hot spring of Cebu, for it is so rare to have something like this here. Considering that there are no active volcanoes visible anywhere in Cebu, it really gives you the question, “how?” But since there was a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that shook Bohol and Cebu last October, the hot spring pool was damaged and was closed for the meantime. However, it still didn’t stop my desire to try it out. Suicide Adventure in Budlaan River to Kabang Falls

Out of boredom, my good friend Karl and I decided to try something new this summer – trekking! I’ve already done Osmeña Peak, Kawasan Falls, and Danasan, so we wanted to try something different. After reading blogs about Kabang Falls and hearing how challenging the trail could be, we were even more excited as first-timers. Take a shower in Tumalog Falls, Oslob

After lunch following the whale shark watching in Tan-awan, I went straight to Tumalog Falls to freshen up. Also known as Mag-ambak or Tuslob Falls, this waterfall is not your ordinary falls like the famous Kawasan Falls in Badian, where you can swim. The water here isn’t as clear as in other falls. But what makes this waterfall truly unique?

Encounter with the Gentle Giants (Whale Shark) in Oslob

I’ve been planning to try whale shark watching in Oslob, Cebu for quite some time now. If you think about it, it’s amazing to swim with those super massive whale sharks, right? However, my mom didn’t really want me to go because she insisted that they are still animals, and we never know what they might do. Despite how fun this experience sounds, I still find it a bit distressing.

Papa Kit’s Marina and Fish Lagoon is not just all about fishing. It is also an adventure park just like Danasan Eco Park but closer to the city. Been here thrice already but this time, they already have the wake boarding which makes me literally happy. This place is best for family outings and for adventure – addicts. Sunshine Shin Beach Resort

Summer has come, which means it’s time for team building! Our first choice was Singli Mountain Resort in San Fernando, but we weren’t too impressed with the place. One reason we chose Singli was because of the team’s budget. Another reason was that we have two pregnant members on our team, so traveling to far places wasn’t an option. The team kept looking for another venue, but just in case we couldn’t find one, we had no choice but to stay there.
