Our team was supposed to have our team building here, but since they don’t offer any promos for 15 people, we just backed out. I decided to bring my family instead, since this is a new resort and we also wanted to try it out.
Best Western Sand Bar Resort is located in Alegria, Cordova, and officially opened in April 2013. The resort charges ₱300 per person for day use of the pool. They also offer ₱685 per person for a minimum of 50 guests, which already includes a buffet lunch.
The Place
The resort is great for families and friends who love scenic views, as it highlights the surroundings nicely. However, it is still under development, so don’t expect to be completely awed yet. If you’re used to resorts like Plantation Bay or Shangri-La, this might not be your type of place. But if you prefer a less crowded resort, this is perfect for you.
The resort is quite far from the city, so it’s advisable to bring your own transportation. Since the place is still under construction, you’ll mostly see one building and one pool. There’s no shoreline yet, and additional buildings are still being developed. When we visited, we were the only Filipinos there and the rest were mostly foreigners, primarily Koreans.
Take note that the pool is shallow, about 4–5 feet deep. If you’re not a strong swimmer, it’s still safe and perfect for you.

How to get there from Cebu?
For public transportation, just take any multicab with a Cordova sign board on it and ask manong driver to drop you in the crossing. Once you’ll get there, ask any tricycle drivers to take you to Best Western Sand Bar.
If you have heard about Basak Grand Mall, then you can take the Basak route and go directly there to rent a tricycle to the resort.
