Adventure in Danasan Eco Park

I’ve been itching to visit this place for a while, and finally, my family decided to go since I treated them to a waterfalls trekking adventure. They even thought it would be postponed because I still had a hangover from my company party the night before. But tadaaaa! We’re here!

One of the reasons I wanted to go there was because of their wakeboarding. I had always wanted to try it. We were also able to try ATV riding, waterfalls trekking, and wakeboarding. I wanted to try rappelling and the zipline as well, but I didn’t have enough money left since I treated everyone to the waterfalls trekking.

How to get there?

Danasan offers shuttle services for those who don’t have a vehicle. From Cebu to Danasan, it costs 350 pesos, and from Danao to Danasan, it’s 200 pesos each (minimum of 10 people). However, if you have your own vehicle, make sure it’s a 4-wheel drive. You also need to be careful when driving to the adventure park because the road is quite rough and rocky, and it will take about 1.5 hours to reach the place.

In our case, we rode a Ceres bus to Danao Wharf and then took their shuttle service.

We arrived at exactly noon and had lunch right away at their canteen. We ordered humba for 150 pesos each.

After lunch, we decided to try ATV riding since my mom couldn’t hide her excitement. For 350 pesos each, you can already enjoy it for up to an hour.

ATV riding was super fun despite the hot, cloudless weather. Even my little sister, who doesn’t know how to drive a motorcycle, found it easy to drive an ATV. Just a note though, if you don’t like mud, this might not be for you.

After ATV, we went straight to trekking toward the waterfalls. The trail was a bit scary and dangerous because it was very steep. Good thing it wasn’t raining, or it would have been even more frightening.

Before reaching the second falls, there’s the main falls—the source of the water—where you can jump and dive. My mom and sisters weren’t really into it, so I’m the only one who tried it.

A photo below is a proof that I successfully jump off to the mini falls.

After the trekking came what we had all been waiting for… drumroll… wakeboarding time!!!

They have two levels for wakeboarding: beginner and advanced. Guess where we played? Of course, the beginner level since it was our first time. Lol.

For 350 pesos, you can already ride unlimited as long as no one else is using the course. In our case, we started at 2 PM, so there was hardly anyone playing at that time.

Before you can get there, you’ll need to ride this (see photo below).

The photo below is the only decent one we got since it was already getting late. It looks easy, but trust me it’s not.

We were all exhausted after everything and headed home at 5 PM. The road on the way home was scarier than the road going to Danasan, so I suggest leaving early. But if you’re the adventurous type and don’t mind the risk of falling off a steep mountainside, then good luck haha!
