Emergency Singapore Trip

I think we have an emergency!

No need to panic! I’m just singing Paramore’s Emergency lol. But yeah, this trip is kind of an emergency as we had to fly here from Taiwan because a super typhoon was coming our way while we were there.

To be honest, I could’ve just flown back to the Philippines, but I really wanted to go back to Singapore to celebrate my sister’s birthday haha!

This is my second time in Singapore and my first was last year with friends. Since this trip was unplanned, we didn’t really have an itinerary. But because I already knew some free sightseeing spots, I ended up being a tour guide for my sister for 2 days. Before starting any tour, don’t forget to get your ez-link, which can be used for their MRTs and the MRT map!

On our first day, we went to the Merlion Park to take some pictures. Last year, I wasn’t able to take some because of the limited time so I took this opportunity to have some decent photos lol

How to Get There?
Take the MRT to Raffles Place Station then go to Exit H. Then you’ll have to walk approximately 10 minutes to reach the park (well, it really depends on you though).

It’s just pure sightseeing around Merlion Park, and look at these statues.

Then off we go to Gardens by the Bay to watch their nightly light show, which usually starts at 8 PM and 9 PM and lasts for 15 minutes. This is also ideal if you don’t want to spend a single penny, since it’s FREE.

Actually, it’s only the Supertree Grove that is free and the rest have entrance fees. lol

How to Get There?
Take MRT to Bayfront Station then go to Exit B.

After 2 hours, it’s time for DINNER!!! And where else should you go for dinner, eh? TO NEWTON HAWKER CENTRE!

Newtown Hawker is an open-air dining that offers authentic Singaporean foods, which is best for hungry tourists like us! The last time I was here, I wasn’t able to enjoy Singaporean foods that much because we cooked our own food at my friend’s apartment. Soooo, time to dig in!

Do you see my favorite drink, Bandung, there? *cries in Singaporean accent*

Anyhooooo, the next day, we stroll around Arab Street and Bugis.

How to Get There?
To get to Bugis, take the MRT and simply go to Bugis Stn. Yep, as simple as that.
Now, for Arab Street, unfortunately, you’ll need to take a short walk to get there.

Since there are no Jollibee stores in Australia, where my sister lives, we went to Lucky Plaza the next day to eat there. By the way, Lucky Plaza is a Pinoy haven where you can find most Filipino foods!

Yeah, I know it’s boring because where’s the Universal Studios???! It was an unplanned trip and we just want to take it slow, so that’s it for the emergency Singapore trip!

Ohh I forgot to mention, it was Grand Prix when we went there and for goodness’ sake, if we knew we’d watch! lololoooloooooool
