Bangkok City

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand — an urban city with heavy traffic and busy people. However, don’t be discourage with it since Bangkok has a lot to offer. From temples and palaces, Thai foods, markets to night life, well, they have everything here for you.

Apparently, you don’t have to spend that much in Bangkok City especially if you’re not into shopping. Also, if you will discover their public free bus then you can save a LOT from spending in tuktuks, taxis, trains and paid bus.

Most of the expenses went to food lol.. simply because food is life, hah! Moreover, I enjoyed walking and taking their free bus (check the post below for which bus number to take).

What To Do?
Visit their temples like Wat Pho
Actually, there’s a lot of temples aside from this but decided to visit Wat Pho only because I have a little budget left for Bangkok lol.

Visit Khao San Road
Home of the backpackers as what they call it. Here, you can see everything a backpacker needs. Cheap hostels, cheap street foods, and if you are looking for a place to party, this is the best place to go. If you are into exotic foods, you will find the scorpions, spiders, and different kind of bugs here.

Stroll around Bangkok City with their Public Free Bus
Yep, you read it right. Spending mollahs on TukTuks and metered taxis ain’t fun at all. Thanks to the locals who helped me with the correct bus number to take, although it’s quite difficult for them to speak and understand English. Now, if you want to try the free bus, this is what you need to remember.

  • To reach Khao San Road, just take bus no. 3.
  • To reach Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Arun, take bus no. 51

Just don’t forget to remind the driver where you’re heading to. It’ll be a big help if you’ll sit behind the driver.

Bangkok is also one of the most favorite shopping cities in the world since they’re cheap. However, I’m not into shopping so I can’t share anything about it. So that’s it! I’ve had a limited time in Bangkok but I’d love to go back there and visit the neighboring province like Chang Mai and Ayutthaya. Next time.
