The Mystical Island of Siquijor

The island is known for sorcery and black magic, which makes it feel spooky and mysterious. Every time my family traveled from Cebu to Dipolog and back by boat, passing by the island, my mom would always tell me that it was enchanted and that we shouldn’t go there. But who wouldn’t want to visit a place like this when you see the beauty it possesses? Forget all those hearsay and urban legends and let’s take a closer look at what makes the island so mystical. Siquijor is located in Visayas and just an hour away from Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. It has also became a favorite destination for most of the tourists from the other countries nowadays.

Gigantes Island: All about the Scallops capital of the Philippines

Islas de Gigantes or Gigantes Island is part of Carles, Iloilo. Little has known about its existence and still remains off the beaten path. The island consists of beautiful scenery with white sand beaches where you can go beach bumming. It is also known as the ‘scallops capital of the Philippines‘ and it taught me that scallops are not deadly when eaten since its my first time to eat scallops here. lol lol lol I’ve been dying to go to this island since last year and good thing I’ve met people who wanted to do the same thing. Mabua Beach Resort of Surigao

Mabua Pebble Beach consists of pebbles instead of sand. Unlike the usual sandy beaches, Mabua has large, smooth, pebble-like stones. This has been a phenomenon, as they say, since no one can really explain why the stones are so smooth. This is what the stones here look like.

Summer has come, which means it’s time for team building! Our first choice was Singli Mountain Resort in San Fernando, but we weren’t too impressed with the place. One reason we chose Singli was because of the team’s budget. Another reason was that we have two pregnant members on our team, so traveling to far places wasn’t an option. Dapitan City’s Dakak Park and Beach Resort

My parents are from Dipolog City, and we’ve been to Dapitan many times since we were kids. Dapitan City is also known as the place where Jose Rizal was exiled. Aside from that, it’s famous for Dakak and Gloria’s Fantasyland. My mom once said that before Dakak became popular as “Dakak Resort,” part of it was owned by their family. However, they didn’t know how to manage a resort, and maybe because of the cost, they decided to sell it to Mr. Jalosjos instead.
