It’s been a while since my last trip because, oh boy, adulting is no joke! Since my little sister, who lives in Australia, will be coming to Taiwan for her birthday, we decided to meet there to celebrate. Taiwan, located between the Philippines and Japan, is just 2 hours from Manila and 3 hours from Cebu, making it a great destination for Filipino travelers.
We woke up before 6am on Saturday morning to start early with our scheduled activities. Had a quick breakfast then prepared our stuff for caving and island hopping. Everyone’s excited ’cause this is the awaited day to experience the adventures in the island.
Islas de Gigantes or Gigantes Island is part of Carles, Iloilo. Little has known about its existence and still remains off the beaten path. The island consists of beautiful scenery with white sand beaches where you can go beach bumming. It is also known as the ‘scallops capital of the Philippines‘ and it taught me that scallops are not deadly when eaten since its my first time to eat scallops here. lol lol lol I’ve been dying to go to this island since last year and good thing I’ve met people who wanted to do the same thing. So what are the things that you can do in Gigantes Island? How can we get to the island? Where to stay?
After the Apo Island trip, we went straight to Harold’s Mansion to pick up our things and then headed to Valencia to visit the Forest Camp. It is a mountain resort with natural pools and a waterfall, making it perfect for picnics, especially for families and groups of friends. Forest Camp in Valencia is just a 30-40 minute ride from Dumaguete City. If you want to stay here for a night then they also have family cottages. As what I’ve heard, Forest Camp doesn’t allow alcoholic drinks inside the premises.
My family has always been to Dumaguete City as a stopover to and from Cebu or Dapitan City. We’ve also strolled around the city and visited some well-known spots before. However, I was feeling impulsive and wanted to visit Negros Oriental once again with my mom and little sister. So off we went, not only to visit Dumaguete City, but also to explore other spots in the area.
Rest in peace Mr. Aldrin Carba Described as one of the best “canyoneering guides” and a pioneer in the field, Mr. Carba, also known as “Ya Man,” was found dead after a 29-hour search and rescue. He went missing following a jump during a canyoning activity on July 26. This post is a tribute to him. Although I never met him personally, I had the opportunity to speak with his mother while staying at their home during our canyoning trip. I decided to have a City Tour on the 3rd and last day in Puerto Princesa, Palawan since this can be done half day. In their city tour, you would be able to see a lot of attractions in the city that includes the following: Crocodile Farm Mitra’s Ranch Baker’s Hill Binuatan Weaving Creation Immaculate Conception Cathedral Plaza Cuartel Baywalk and Souvenir Shop

After my Siargao adventure, I had to go to Surigao City. Since I had already booked our flight from there to Cebu, I didn’t really have a choice but to leave Siargao. creys Surigao City is located at the northeasternmost tip of Mindanao Island in the Philippines and is the capital of the province of Surigao del Norte. I really had no idea about Surigao City, and I didn’t even know what to do there. lol
