Moalboal

I’ve never tried staying overnight in Moalboal yet, but I’ve already been there three times. Moalboal is located on the southern side of Cebu Province and is one of the go-to destinations for Cebuanos and tourists alike.

On our first trip back in 2011, we only rented a cottage for ₱500 since we stayed for just about two hours. It wasn’t really planned… I simply got bored and decided to head down south.

On our third trip in 2013, we went there straight from Kawasan Falls here.

We brought a tent and initially planned to stay overnight, but my little sister and I ended up going home because we got bored lol. Take note that there’s no fee for pitching a tent since the area is public, and locals even advised us not to pay if anyone asked for a fee.

It was cloudy with light rain showers that day, which explains the gloomy vibe in the photos below.

How to get there?

From Cebu South Terminal (located on Bacalso St., if I’m not mistaken), just tell the Manong konduktors that you’re heading to Moalboal. For ₱160+, you can already reach Moalboal town proper. Once you get there, you can hire a tricycle for around ₱100, and you may tip the driver as well.

Where to stay?

On my second trip there with friends, that was the only time I tried renting a room for ₱1,000, and it could already accommodate up to 8 people. I’m not exactly sure what the name of the beach was where we stayed, but I do know there are a lot of resorts in the area.
