Alpaca World Day Tour in South Korea

Me and Ron are really excited to visit Alpaca World because alpacas are incredibly cute, and it’s our first time seeing one in person. Alpaca World is located in Gangwon-do province and is atleast 2 hours away from Seoul.

We want to make our life easier by booking a joiners trip in Klook together with the other destination, which are Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm. In this way, we can just ride the bus on our way to all destinations, hassle free.

How much is the Alpaca World, Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm tour in Klook?

We paid 7,000 pesos for both of us, which includes the entrance fees and round-trip transportation. This does not include lunch yet, so make sure to bring extra cash with you. DIY is also possible but I think it’s more hassle compared to this unless you have side quests other than the main attractions. But since the main attractions are really far from each other, I’d recommend booking a tour instead.

Aside from this tour, they also offer other tours that include destinations like Petite France and the Rail Bike, but we didn’t want to jam-pack our schedule. We just wanted to take everything slow.

What to do in Alpaca World?

Now, before we start, let’s talk about what alpacas are. Alpacas are gentle, fluffy animals native to the high Andes of South America, especially Peru, where they have been raised for their soft, luxurious fleece for thousands of years. Although they are often confused with llamas, alpacas are quite different in both size and purpose. Alpacas are smaller, while llamas are larger and stronger. Jeez, now I want to see llamas too! lol

That’s it for a short intro about alpacas. So, in Alpaca World, aside from feeding the cute alpacas and taking some pictures, you can also enjoy their small zoo, which we weren’t able to visit because we were too busy feeding the alpacas. As an animal lover, spending time with these cuties is always special to me.

Just keep in mind that the park is located on the side of a mountain, so the paths are definitely not flat. Expect a lot of walking uphill and downhill throughout the visit.

The cooler weather during spring and autumn makes the experience much more enjoyable, I think, while the summer heat might be challenging, so choose your battle wisely. LOL

To feed them, you will need to buy the Paca coins that can be bought just at the entrance. These coins can be used to buy feeds for the Alpacas from the vending machines inside the Alpaca World. We arrived a little early but just enough for us to get the entrance tickets, buy souvenirs and get paca coins.

You can buy a special set of five coins for 5,000 KRW, which usually comes in a cute alpaca-themed tin case that makes for a fun souvenir.

Once we had the ticket and the entrance has been open, we didn’t hesitate to get in.

We we’re asked to gather inside a big fence and we’re given instructions to shout “PACA IRIWA”, which means Come Here. So here’s a video of the grand entrance of the cute alpacas.

After they run back to the hill, you have free time to feed them more or explore the area. We chose to have fun with the alpacas instead. Just look at these cuties.

We just spent our time at Alpaca World feeding them and taking photos. Was this trip worth it? For animal lovers like us, it’s a big YES! So don’t miss this spot when you visit South Korea.
