I’m back to traveling again, this time with my girlfriends. We’re off to Singapore and Malaysia! Will this break my frugal travel goals?

Well, the answer is no. I still managed to save a lot on this trip and here’s how.
- We have a friend working in Singapore and was able to stay in her flat instead of booking in hostels/hotels. For only 15SGD/head per night then it was a win-win situation.
- We also booked for USS and Cable Car tickets ahead of time and online (www.klook.com) to save more.
- Since we’re going to Malaysia, we booked a night bus for only 10 SGD (around 350 PHP) so we can sleep on the bus instead.
- Bought corned beef, hotdogs and a lot of snacks from Philippines since we can also cook in the flat.
- We borrowed the ez-links from our friends since many of them were able to visit Singapore already.
The DIY Singapore and Malaysia trip is made easier by our friend Kate, who works as a nurse there and she’s also the one who suggested the itinerary. You can refer below.
